We print on a carefully selected range of archival, museum-grade papers chosen for their visual qualities, stability, and known aging characteristics. These include 100% cotton rag and fiber-based papers suitable for fine art and photographic work. Whenever feasible, we print on sheet stock rather than roll paper, despite the additional time and cost involved, as sheet printing helps ensure lasting flatness—particularly important for exhibition-quality presentation and conservation framing. When possible, we also prefer papers without optical brighteners to support color consistency under varied lighting conditions and for their superior long-term stability.
Our go-to papers come from Canson, a historic French manufacturer established in 1557 and long respected for producing exceptional fine art papers, including Arches BFK Rives. We also frequently work with Somerset Velvet and other high-quality papers when they are better suited to a specific image or intent.
Paper selection is always guided by the needs of the project. We are happy to work with an artist’s or client’s preferred paper, or to recommend an option that best supports the presentation of the final framed work.
