Scope of Work
We frame works on paper, photography, paintings, art objects, and atypical works.
Each project is evaluated individually, considering the artwork’s materials, condition, scale, context, and how it is intended to be viewed and lived with over time.
⸻
An Integrated Framing System
Protective measures and visual decisions are developed together.
Materials, mounting methods, construction, and finish are selected so that preservation is inherent to the finished frame while the visual result remains clear and intentional.
⸻
Aesthetics and Finish
Design decisions emphasize proportion, balance, and visual quiet.
Frames are meant to support the artwork without drawing attention to themselves, resulting in a presentation that feels resolved and not distracting.
⸻
Materials and Construction
We use premium hardwood profiles, museum-grade cotton boards, and UV-filtering glazing selected for performance and optical clarity.
Our preferred in-house joinery is the mitered dovetail joint, chosen for its strength, precision, and clean, invisible finish. Frames are built to remain stable and serviceable over decades of normal use.
⸻
Handling and Care
Artwork is managed deliberately throughout the process, from intake through completion.
Fragile or valuable works are approached with appropriate pacing and control, and the same level of care is applied regardless of project size.
⸻
Starting a Project
Projects begin with an appointment.
During the initial meeting, the artwork is reviewed, options are developed, and a framing approach is established. A price estimate is provided and refined as scope and materials are finalized.
