Jalal Poehlman is the Framer at & Proprietor of FRAMEWERK.

His work is informed by formal training in art history, painting, and printmaking, studying for both a BFA and an MFA, as well as continued study through extensive travel and direct engagement with artwork in museums, galleries, and artists’ studios worldwide.

Professionally, his background spans more than a quarter century in fine art and art services. This includes early work with pioneering conservation framer Don Francis Framing, in Venice Beach, California, followed by building and operating Poehlman Press, a printmaking workshop in Los Angeles California serving artists, galleries, museums, and professional clients.

Those experiences shaped a disciplined approach to materials, process, and long-term stewardship. At FRAMEWERK, conservation principles, thoughtful design, and precise execution are developed together as a single system, with an emphasis on clarity, proportion, and durability. Jalal works directly with every project, bringing scholarship and hands-on experience to each framing decision.
